Religion plays a major role in Autism, not surprisingly. Jesus was the same 2.000 years ago as for all ages. So it’s the Bible. What better combination for Routine-lover’s Autistics. However, Change and Renewal are not the same concept.

Changes imply the introduction of new rules replacing the old ones.

Renewals are adjustments to old rules, conforming to the signs of the times.

Christian dogmas are eternal, although Church Authority given to Peter, first Pope appointed by Jesus, has the power to complement Bible teachings.

Autistics perceive Renewals as disruptions in Routine.

Religion is undergoing lots of Renewal recently, most notably Gender Identity, Abortion, Confession.
Information is no longer impartial, Reporters are manipulated by Media.
Only associated agencies are reliable, i.e. The Catholic News Agency, though Autistics don’t spike high in discerning, they take mainstream sources the likes of Fox, CNN, ABC… as granted.

What does the Church say with regard to Renewal?

Let’s start with Gender Identity.
What used to be classified as a psychiatric disorder before the new Millennium, it has been popularized into a Pride Advocacy Movement-LGBT-thus renamed ‘Transgenderism’.
This is very Wrong either medically and morally, even more so since the Medical  Profession didn’t downplay, yet envisioned a new profitable industry in Gender Manipulation through unethical, expensive reconstructive surgery and dangerous hormonal treatments not covered by Medical Insurance, although backed up by law in private practices.

It is possible to reverse Male/Female features, not Sexual Chromosomes.
It’s either XX or XY.
The new body becomes a prison for persons of opposite biological sex.
Suicidal Ideation is rampant among these individuals, what plastic surgeons will never tell, understandably so…

The Church does tell! Unfortunately, its warnings go most often unheard.

Our so-called ‘All Inclusive’ society has taught us that we are the Owners of our bodies, not God.
The Church is indeed ‘All Inclusive’, it acknowledges Gender Identity as a disorder to be treated with Christian Counseling.
It doesn’t discriminate Same-Sex couples, it admonishes them.
Nobody is born with same-sex attraction, it’s a curable developmental disorder.

Abortion is regarded as another female right to do what they want with their body.
The Church’ stance is the same for Gender Identity despite the proliferation of Private Abortion Clinics.

The sad reality is a foreseeable future where public healthcare will disappear.
We’ll go to the doctor as we go to the grocery store.
Medical bankruptcy will be the next Pandemic.

To wrap things up, Confession makes it all the more disruptive for autistics.
We became accustomed with general Absolution upon repentance, although Purgatory is having a big Renewal in the Church as the antechamber to Heaven.
I must admit that the Church is not very eloquent on this subject.
Some theologians are pushing the hypothesis that Purgatory is inevitable.
Other clerics state that Purgatory is just for those who are still tempted to sin.
Others say that temptation is not a sin if we don’t give in.

I’m not against Renewals.
I only wish everyone said the same thing.

And best wishes to all.

Failures lead to Achievement. The common obstacle to the neurodivergent is doing the first step. Take courage, you are worthy.

Jesus said “Do not store treasures on Earth but in Heaven.”
Is Achievement a Treasure? It would make sense in human history.

The difficulty for most humans is distinguishing Earthly treasures from Heavenly treasures.
The word  ‘Treasure’ has become Fiction vocabulary in today’s digital world, a reminiscence of the Indiana Jones’ saga.
I wonder if Internet generations have ever heard it…
Maybe read it or listened to it in Church homilies.

On the other hand, Treasure is an outdated definition of Materialism for atheists and gnostics.

Treasures vs Materialism, two distinct concepts in Religion and Business.

The real bad attraction is Materialism.
Business is often associated with Wealth and not necessarily sinful. The greatest Saints happened to come from aristocratic families.
Who can help the poor if not the wealthy?

Destitution is not to be confused with Poverty, it has never been in God’s plans. Destitution is an Infliction, therefore we are all accountable.
The Destitute have nothing, not even essentials, some survive on Divine Providence- soup kitchens, emergency shelters- others die of hypothermia everyday by sleeping on the streets, yet they don’t even make the news, they are not part of our society, or ‘no longer’ part, since we discarded them on the grounds of mental illness, weakness, vulnerability, bankruptcy.

Poverty can be a choice. Jesus chose to be poor.
Poverty is living on essentials.
The poor live uncomfortably since they don’t conform to societal productive demands, resulting in discrimination.

Either way, Infliction and Discrimination are equally reprehensible.

Here comes the importance of Church Teaching in complementing the Bible.

Without proper guidance, the biblical message would wrongly translate into the “Hell-bounded Rich vs Big Heavenly Mansions prepared for the outcast.”
Although the fundamentals are true, Jesus loves unconditionally, He doesn’t punish, We punish ourselves.
Our capitalist society sees Wealth as Materialism.
Without God, the Wealthy become truly self-centered.
We must reach out to the wealthy Youth, they don’t need financial assistance, though God!
Unless they come from religious families, they most certainly never entered a Church.
They are not to blame if nobody ever evangelized to them. We are!
Didn’t Jesus instruct us to go and spread the Gospel?

A theologian once said: “There would be no atheists if there were no God”, the irony… I agree fully.
My understanding is that atheists don’t want to submit to God, in so denying His Majesty.
This has dramatic psychological consequences, Destructive Narcissism summons them all: Delusion, Paranoia, Apathy, Anger, ultimately Death-phobia.
These pathologies arise from the conviction of being one’s own God.
This delusion is inevitable for non-believers, for we are all mortals.
A narcissist will never accept death as the end of their earthly treasures, hence the illusion of being a God, coincidentally the Principle of the New Age cult,Death not fitting in humankind.

Man cannot live without God s promise of an eternal afterlife.

There is a very simple question to debunk atheists:
“What is going to be of all your possessions when you die?”
Be prepared for the worst possible outburst… you are unveiling the hidden Devil in that person. Satan doesn’t want to show himself, if he does, it’s always his last desperate lying attempt. You have Jesus, Mary, St Michael s armor, don’t be intimidated.

The following is the real-life chronicle of my confrontation with an atheist:

Me: What happens when we die?
A: Nothing, we are a bunch of cells. We are born, we live, we die.
Me: How about your possessions?
A: I take them with me!
Me: Where???
I broke his shell…starts shaking and rolling eyes.
A: Then your God is a B…..d!!!
Me: I thought you didn’t believe in God.
Disassociating.
A: All Masses are the same!
Me: Have you ever been to Mass???
A: 30 years ago!!!
I’ll stop here for the weak of heart.

I conclude by saying that with a solid Faith, you will never feel envious and inadequate.
You will move mountains with great dignity.

The future is in God s hands. We must learn to live one day at a time.

The headline of this article is very much typical of Eastern philosophy.
Even Oriental Christians believe it, obviously giving a Godly interpretation to the Wind.
Their way of saying “Everything in God’s time”.
The Wind refers to Jesus indeed, no Paganism/New Age involvement at all, purely cultural.

Culture influences the way we speak. It doesn’t change the meaning within the same fellowship.

I love that definition a lot, my Christian Asian wife reminds it to me everytime homesickness assails me.

I have learnt to use that expression to answer Protestants accusing Catholics of not taking the Bible to the letter.
Orientals, Christian or not, take NOTHING to the letter.
Like Jesus, they very much speak in parables.
That works wonders between the tiny Christian community. I have never witnessed an argument between Christians of different denominations in Asia. There is only one Christian family to them. They happen to be Protestant or Catholic depending on the Western Missionaries they encountered.
Ironically, I have witnessed Pastors arguing with each-other, coincidentally Protestant… how miserable.
However, I am happy to see the Catholic Church fastest growing in Asia.
South Korea saw Catholics increasing from 1% to 6.5% in the last two years and will host the next World Youth Day in 2027.

Priesthood vocations are thriving too: most Catholic Priests in Japan, largest traditional Buddhist country in Asia, are Korean and Vietnamese, in addition to Western Missionaries, mainly Franciscans,Jesuits, Salesians.
The St Paul s Order is very much involved in Media Evangelisation with major bookstores managed by the Daughters of St Paul.
The Archbishop of Tokyo has been recently appointed President of Caritas Internationalis and elevated to Cardinal by the Pope.

I feel like the Wind is blowing in our direction.

And since this post falls on Christmas Eve, allow me to wish you all the good of Advent.

One of the main obstacles in Neurodivergence is gaining Trust.

I have been asked to write regularly for a Christian Charity dealing with addictions.

I’m still pondering the offer, a painful decision-making.
The position is appealing, they have top-grade reviews compatible with my medical skills.

So, what gives…?
Trust, from my autistic perspective.

Addictions are big in my line of work as EMT.
I know that 20 years of experience in the field are going to challenge them, and I hate any kind of confrontation.
I admit this is my problem, I don’t want to offend anyone, although Peaceful Confrontation is not offensive yet constructive.
Most professionals are wary of challenges, even more so when backed up by an organization, especially of religious affiliation.
Charities are mainly associated to religious institutions valuing Homogeneity.
On the other hand, Initiative is more valued by large Multinationals.
Neither is better or worse, there are pros and cons to each

Why worry about Trust?

This Charity is oriented towards Recovery by providing support to former addicts as in societal reintegration, honorably nevertheless!

My viewpoint is that Support must start at the very onset of Addiction, what they perceive as a “non-state of grace” in their Christian-Protestant faith.
I am Christian-Catholic, to highlight viewpoints further: the Catholic Church sees Addiction as Illness deserving Compassion, Protestantism as grave sin.
Also, most mentally ill necessitate life-long medication, an indispensable addiction in itself. Are these individuals not worthy of help?

Will my standpoint decline the offer?
How can I enquire without tempering my expectations???

And may God’s love be with you all

AI is a Filter of humankind.
VERY WRONG.

We have officially entered the new Artificial Intelligence Era. This comes with pros and cons. AI has demonstrated to compensate human intellectual limitations by highlighting the extent of Brain Power. We may well have reached the maximum brain-threshold as result of technology. We have not become neuro-stagnant, nevertheless, we’ll continue to evolve with Nanotechnology, the precursor of AI. What are the ethical implications?

Wariness is the first reaction to enhanced intelligence.
As AI enhances human thinking by analyzing previously unprocessed information, it arises our curiosity.

Neuroscientists describe it “Evolving with Nanotechnology”.

Nanotechnology was first experimented in late 90s at intercellular level.
AI is Nanotechnology continued.
Back in the day, it was categorized as pseudoscience, involving the introduction of artificially manufactured self-replicating cells into dysfunctional organs for repair.
It became soon apparent that ‘nanocells’ embodied and developed Intelligence by targeting Neurons, in so far by altering personality for the better.
The practice was ostracized by religious ethics underwriting that we are made at the image of God, although it continued semi-secretly to this day, where it has legitimately exploded as Artificial Intelligence.
The Church didn’t delay in complying with revised guidelines: Doubts and Temptations are not sinful as far as we don’t give in. In fact, they will draw us closer to God.
As a practicing Christian, I agree entirely.
Jesus endured doubts and temptations by becoming fully human.
The Church regarded doubts and temptations as grave sins just prior to AI.
My concern is that the term AI will replace God, unless in His Majesty.
God may use AI for conversion.

Why many people are scared of AI?

The main reason is Novelty.
I believe AI has the potential to convert more people to God.
It could well be a Godly plan.
The worrisome element could be Free-Will, God gave us total control over it, He won’t interfere.
AI can be heavenly good as destructive evil in the wrong hands.
I have analyzed the positive effects thus far.
What about the odds?
Isolation most likely, loss of human contact.
We can speak to robots online, perfectly imitating human acting-out.

The other day I was chatting with an ‘online Priest’ who suspiciously answered my questions simultaneously. When I typed “are you a human or a robot?”, a message popped up as  “Your inquiry has been processed. We will divert you to one of our available Advisors for a fee, should you wish to speak to a person.”
“No thanks, my questions were answered satisfactorily”, I had to nostalgically acknowledge.

We are creating Artificial Life.
I doubt that is in God s plans.
The same Doubt that draws me closer to God.
I pray that will work for the good of all.

Intellectual Threshold is not a Learning Disability.

I came across a programme on a Christian station, hosted by a pastor and a Christian psychiatrist. The discussion revolved over what compels a scientist to believe in God.

The scientific mantra “Nothing can be created from Nothingness” is the general consensus. The most primordial events in human evolution, the Universe and related Big Bang, had to occur from a previous reaction.

Physics attribute any primordial reaction to the Atom however, Atoms are not the definition of Nothingness.
God would be what Atheists call Nothingness, pure blasphemy.

God walked this Earth in a human form, Jesus.
Nobody can deny the written and matching archeological evidence.

Nothingness alone does not exist.

Science and Religion cannot survive independently anymore, this day and age.

According to science, the human brain is set to 30% of its potential. Artificial Intelligence is replacing Thought-processing.

The psychiatrist highlighted the notion of two brains: a higher Godly brain and a limited Human brain.
There are questions our brain will never be able to answer.
Not an intellectual disability, though the Human Intellect’s Threshold.

Christmas is overwhelming for AuDHDers

Last Saturday I was looking forward to attending a concert.
I couldn’t wait… until all hell broke loose.
Just before leaving, thoughts of deadlines assailed me.
I endured a meltdown and didn’t want to ruin the performance to my wife, who went on her own, despite my disappointment.

Unsolved issues keep me from moving forward.

I can’t move when overwhelmed.
I spent two days paralyzed with an unbearable sense of guilt.

Neurotypicals can keep thoughts at bay, Autistics can’t, when triggered.
Our brains are not set to multitask.
Christmas season is the most difficult time of year for us.
Multitasking is at an all-time high, contradicting the spirit of worship and family reunion.

We transformed Christmas into a Shopping Festival.

Obsessive shopping is draining for everyone, an outpouring of adrenaline, carefully masterminded to make us spend compulsively.
Not what Jesus taught us.
I wish I could discuss this with a Priest, together with my wife.
Mental-health professionals can’t understand this feeling, since I live in a non-Christian country.

I give all my heartaches and sorrow to Jesus.
Lord, You are my Shepherd, there is nothing I shall want.

Panic caused by changes to plans for individuals with autism

The panic experienced by people with autism when plans change stems from a deep need for predictability and routine. These provide a sense of safety and control in a world that can feel chaotic and overwhelming. When these established patterns are disrupted, it can trigger significant anxiety, distress, and sometimes panic attacks.

Why Changes Cause Distress

Need for Predictability:

Autistic people often thrive on structure. Routines act as a script for the day, helping them know what to expect and when, which significantly lowers overall anxiety.

Executive Functioning Challenges:

Autistic individuals may struggle with executive functions like planning, organization, and shifting focus (mental flexibility). A change in plans requires rapid replanning and adapting to a new sequence of events, which can be cognitively exhausting and difficult.

I need extra help this time of year.

So, another Advent.
As every year, the overwhelm has set in.
I wish I could talk to a Priest, not an option where I live.

Sending Christmas cards is a major issue to me: it takes about a month for a letter, during this busy season, to reach Europe from Asia.
Consequently, I planned with my wife to send Christmas cards last weekend, and she agreed first thing first on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning comes and she tells me of going to the grocery store with her mother one hour or so… bells ringing… turned out all day.
I had a real meltdown.
I couldn’t write any card.

She took on me that I don’t have any ‘flexibility’!

Her justification was her mother asked to visit some relatives.
She wouldn’t bother to call me or pick up the phone either, believing it would have made matters worse.

I had to spend all Sunday in bed to recover, while the cards were not sent.

I’ll leave the judgement to you: is that ‘autistic change in routine’ or ‘neurotypical lack of planning’?

Autistics don’t like changes in routine.

How do you deal with change in routine? How is your comfort zone? Does spirituality play a role in your life? Are you more biologically oriented?

How did you start the new week?

Monday is always a challenge to me, though better than weekend.
I’m quite settled Tuesday to Friday.
I only honour Sunday from a Christian perspective.
Faith is my main help and hope.

I also put trust in science: I see my psychiatrist monthly.
Last week I had my session, he’s a psychoanalytic psychiatrist.
I’m always bit nervous for fear of changing meds.
I wonder which diagnosis is predominant with me, Autism or ADHD…
He says that latest research places ADHD on the Spectrum, I’ve come to believe it. I identify 80% ADHD to date.
The new AuDHD diagnosis would assert the validity of my identity.
